Our purpose
The world is evolving. Let’s shape it. Together.

In an era of profound global changes, as a non-profit organization, Siemens Stiftung is committed to sustainable social development. Together with individuals and communities, we create opportunities to actively shape social and ecological transformation.

Our international work focuses on three key areas of action: Essential Services, Digitality, and Climate. We collectively address challenges in these fields and harness them as opportunities for innovation and positive impact. By leveraging interdisciplinary approaches, we connect local actions with global perspectives to cultivate resilience, social cohesion, and regenerative practices.

Our areas of action

Essential Services

Access to Essential Services is the foundation of life, the basis of resilience, and a prerequisite for participation in social, cultural, economic, and political life. Through our activities, we strengthen people and organizations that improve existing supply systems and create new possibilities for action. Within the framework of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we focus on the areas of energy, mobility, water, and health. Together with our partners, we primarily reach out to communities in underserved regions and work to actively shape a more equitable society.

Digitality

We actively shape digital transformation, fostering a “culture of digitality” that empowers and connects people. Through our international network, we create platforms for cross-border learning and knowledge exchange. Beyond technology,  we enhance digital competencies, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving. With an inclusive approach, we enable participation and support initiatives that strengthen equal opportunities. In this way, we support individuals to build resilient social relationships in the digital era and leverage networking for the common good.

Climate

Climate change requires holistic solutions and a rethinking of established course action. In our work, we combine social and ecological aspects of sustainability and promote innovative interventions that arise from local contexts. The aim is to strengthen the regenerative capacity of ecosystems and empower communities to respond resiliently to climate change. Through cross-sector collaboration and the promotion of restorative practices, we aim not only to reduce negative impacts but also create new perspectives for sustainable development.
