On 24 and 25 April 2024, Forum Bildung Digitalisierung is hosting the “Education Digitalization Conference 2024” (KonfBD24). At the leading conference for schools to foster a culture of digitality in German-speaking countries, more than 700 participants and 150 speakers will discuss political strategies and practical educational measures for equal opportunities and a successful digital transformation.
This year, over 800 stakeholders from education practice, politics, administration, science and civil society are taking part in the conference. The program consists of 68 programme items with more than 150 speakers covering topics like learning culture and skills, artificial intelligence, learning technologies, educational governance, professionalization and leadership as well as inclusion and participation, providing content-related impetus for a participatory design of school education and a common understanding of the digital transformation.
Dr. Nina Smidt, our CEO and Spokesperson of the Board will moderate a panel discussion on the topic: “Where and how can equal opportunities succeed in digital practice?”. Laura Bender (Teach First), Amina Kielblock (DIPF), (SINE-CURA school) and Jolina Leuschner (student) are the four participants in the panel discussion, which Dr. Smidt will moderate. Prof. Dr. Hans Anand Pant (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and IPN – Leibniz Institute for Science and Mathematics Education) will introduce the session with a keynote speech on the topic “Educational justice, it doesn’t exist”. The panel discussion aims to shed light on the various aspects that influence the inequality of opportunity in schools and to discuss some interesting approaches that could reduce the digital divide.
“The conference is an inspiring forum that offers space for dialogue and networking between various stakeholders in the education sector. Here, good practices are made visible, transfer is strengthened and groundbreaking impulses are set for shaping the digital transformation in the school education sector. I look forward to opening up new perspectives for the inclusive design of school education and promoting a shared understanding of the digital transformation in an informative discussion with important speakers from the school landscape,” says Dr. Nina Smidt.
